Hip Hop is alive
I just recently came across a few really nice blogs that I thought I'd pass on if any of you haven't discovered them yet. Ain't It Good To You is run by DJ Dee-Ville and features old school mixes that he throws together and man this dude knows his history on hip hop. He also makes his own covers that look fantastic. MOOVMNT! is a site that posts newer hip hop but from my first visit it looks like it's mostly underground shit that I like and he has great write ups along with the music links. Another quality site is Check The Rhime run by Breezilla and I'm pretty sure I've visited it before but came across it again today. Lot's of new hip hop releases and info, so be sure to bookmark these sites and check regularly.

Thanks for the shout out man. Much appreciated. I hope you don't mind us adding you to your blogroll.
This post is directed to the creator of To The Break of Dawn, one of my favorite sources for the good shit:
I am Jonah Rexer, an undergrad researcher at Stanford University as well as lifetime hip hop head, and I am studying the effects of the blogosphere and online communities on the face of the hip hop nation and the future of hip hop, economically, culturally, and musically. I seek to make use of your blog in my final research paper and also desire your expertise in answering some central questions to my research.
My questions are as follows: how does the hip hop blogosphere at large relate to the future of hip-hop in the post-record industry age? How will it facilitate new musical and cultural trends in the genre? How does the internet change the face of the hip hop nation. In short, how will the future of hip-hop be changed by the online communities such as this one? Any reply would be greatly appreciated and very valuable in my endeavor. There is so little academic scholarship relating to this highly current, constantly changing phenomenon in hip-hop, and I want to change that. In addition, I may be coming at you with some more questions in the future if you're down.
Thanks,
