Crazy Eddie & Jazaq - Come On Party People
I traded something for this around '86-'87, can't remember what but an excellent trade don't you think? My mate (at the time; stole my PE 'Public Enemy no.1' 12" and a compilation video of stuff I'd recorded off the telly) got it off someone he knew and I ended up with it. I'd like to know the provenance of it as promos were really not around much due to there being no internet and what have you. I don't ever remember buying one in the shop so I'd say this is a pretty scarce piece of wax. And a killer track too with some firin' vocoder action to boot. There's also a glaring typo but let's not discuss that.

ran away when I was 9
took to a life of crime
robbin' peoples jewelry juvenile
delinquency
judge sent me to a school ran
by creeps and by fools
teacher is a closet case
he got too close so I broke his face
When I heard the rap above by johhny bankcheque in 1983 or 4 with a
basic drumbeat and no music
I thought it was the worst electro
record I had heard little did I
know that this was the direction
the music would evolve to in the
later 80's and even stranger that
I could never forget it and find myself buying this record on discogs today. I am addicted to
electro funk sounds more now than ever so keep on the education
because I really did miss out on the later 80's gems like Crazy Eddie & Jazaq - Come On Party People and thanks
just heard an excellent late
80's electro - Miami bass stlye
track from ebay but too expensive :
Sugar Style - Quadro-Phonic (On The Spot 1988) I bid over twenty pound
for it though
i must say i don't know the sugar style track. 20 quid's usually my limit too, nothing's worth more than a score. unless i'm the one selling it o' course.
So happy to have discovered your site. Amazing material and I am envious of every one of these treasures on vinyl.
glad to be of service Michael.
PEACE AND LIGHT!...TIM WESTWOOD USED TO PLAY THIS ON HIS PIRATE RADIO SHOW ON LWR ON THE WEEKDAYS IN THE 80'S!...
Thank you... http://www.reverbnation.com/crazyeddiejazaq
